West Calgary Real Estate FAQ

What communities are in West Calgary?

The City of Calgary's West sector, which matches CREB's West district, includes the 27 communities listed above, from Spruce Cliff and Glendale to West Springs, Aspen Woods, Springbank Hill and Discovery Ridge.

Is West Calgary the same as SW Calgary?

Not exactly. Most West-district communities have SW addresses, but CREB puts SW communities south of Glenmore, like Woodbine and Shawnessy, in its South district, and Valley Ridge in the West district has NW addresses.

What are the best communities in West Calgary?

It depends on your priorities. For Blue Line access, look at communities near Westbrook, 45 Street, Sirocco and 69 Street stations, like Spruce Cliff, Westgate, Rosscarrock and Patterson. For newer homes on the western edge, West Springs, Aspen Woods and Springbank Hill. For river-valley access, Discovery Ridge on the Elbow, or Wildwood and Spruce Cliff near Edworthy Park.

What do homes cost in West Calgary?

It depends on the community and the home type, and prices change month to month. The market snapshot above will show CREB's latest West figures. For a current read on a specific street, call (825) 945-HOME.
